Welcome!

Dear Class of 2018,

Wow.  We have much to accomplish.  Before we even begin to talk about rhetoric or argumentation, we need to talk about what we consume...........as readers, as viewers, as buyers.........

After reading the article in class titled "What is Fake News?" your job is to:
1)  Read this proclamation/set of guidelines from AP News

Here

2) Respond to the differences in what makes up "Fake News" and "Real News".  Are the guidelines set up by AP News really achievable?  How do we know journalists won't fall victim to the same traps as those who write fake news?

3)  Do some research.  Find 3 BRAND NEW TO YOU news sources that you find to be credible.  They MAY NOT BE any major/cable news network.  Digital or print.  List them.  Also, what about them makes them credible????????

All of your responses come in the "comments" section.  Make certain that you type your name in at the beginning of your comment, just as if you were typing a paper.

This assignment is due on Sunday, August 27th by 11:56 pm.

It's hard to decipher between fake and real credible news. although they do have differences in which gives away their credibility they as well have similarities in which make the division of them both hard. The guidelines of the AP news I feel are achievable, but is everyone going to stick to them? I don't know! Honestly I don't think we do know if journalist will fall into the trap of fake new writers, but we do know the signs to look for in writing. I feel a journalist could easily fall into the trap of biasness.

    http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/news.html
I think this is a credible news source because not only is it .org, but it offers a variety of news world wide. Some articles include the journalist name while some only include the journalist home country. Not only does this sight include our insight on world wide news but as well the insight of other foreign journalist from those foreign countries in which we report about in our daily news.

    https://www.sott.net/
I found that this sight for news is reliable because one, it does not have a noticeable bias feel in its news reports. The reporters and journalist stick to their jobs of collecting and seeking without adding a spin of their own opinion on things. The quotes and information is cited properly from whom was speaking at that moment and as well all reports include the journalist's name who wrote them.

    https://www.sciencenews.org/blog/culture-beaker/unbiased-computer-confirms-media-bias
This science based news is a huge source for unbiased news. In the report I read about Hilary Clinton, it named the reporter who wrote this piece of news as well cited each factual evidence provided in the article. The information given was gathered through a field of studies and was not just a short term thought written on paper. Rachel Ehrenberg considered the findings of scientist in her report as well as other authoritative people.

There are many differences between “real news” and “fake news” according to AP news, those differences include whether or not pictures are true or not, whether audio is true or not, whether datelines are correctly stated, etc. These differences are small and very rarely noticed by the average person who reads quickly through a random article they find online. These guidelines should be obtainable by any reliable news source because these guidelines are mostly easy to follow as long as the news being provided is true and honest. Journalists won’t fall victim to the same traps as those who write fake news because journalists (are supposed to) write to report news and that’s it, it is very unethical for a journalist to tamper with news and if they do they most likely would lose credibility (This made me think of Kevin Carter).

      - This article quotes people and used information from other reliable sources, such as the National Weather Service. There is a “by line” that lets you contact the author of the article.

      http://fortune.com/2017/08/26/apple-iphone-8-update/
      - This article has a word that’s linked to another credible website such as apple.com, in about every single sentence. This article also has a “by line” and a “date line”. They also have a video with audio that seems to be authentic.

      https://singularityhub.com/2017/08/27/nasa-made-this-technology-for-space-now-it-will-improve-what-we-eat/
      - This article again has videos that seem to be authentic to back up the information provided in the article, links to other websites are provided, and quotes are properly used as well. This article, like the other 2, has a by line and a date line. At the bottom is also an “about the author” section that shows the author and says a little about them and also gives ways to reach them and see their other work.

Fake news is everywhere and you can't really avoid it. I think everyone has the potential to follow the AP guidlines but not everyone is going to do it because fake news is often more popular.

Buzzfeed is a credible news source because they have huge events and facts, they cover world news. They have opinions but I think they can be open-minded.

BBC is reliable because they are honest and don't minipulate words. They tell it like it is making biases consistent.

This news source has little to no bias, they are trustworthy. They are factual and credible.

Fake news is the manipulation of facts that are intended to mislead the public. The guidelines set forth by AP are achievable, however, people are more likely to buy into fake news because it is easier for one to remain ignorant, instead of changing deep-rooted beliefs.

    https://www.voanews.com/
I found Voice of America News to be very reliable because the information is unbiased. It acknowledges all of their sources.

    http://theweek.com/
I found an article on this source. It was about whether sanctions work. I found it credible because they used the effect of previous sanctions as a way to develop an unbiased analysis.

    https://www.reuters.com/
I find Reuters to be a credible source because it has stayed to a truer journalistic type of reporting. Reuters’ editorial policy states: “We are committed to reporting the facts and in all situations avoid the use of emotive terms. The only exception is when we are quoting someone directly or in indirect speech.” You do not feel swayed when reading their articles.

The difference between fake news verses real news is a very direct line. Fake news will manipulate the readers into a way of believing what is being presented and training the mind to not think twice about the way things are said and not looking at the credibility of the news. Real news should never fall short of acknowledging how the writer is, identifying where there sources came from, no plagiarizing, and has credibility. The guidelines set up by AP News to me are not totally achievable. Yes most of it is achievable and is being done now, but in order to get a writer and a company not follow all of those guidelines and manipulate the story just a bit (maybe not even meaning to), to me isn’t very achievable. We don’t always know that journalists aren’t falling sort and buying into those traps because we are just the readers gaining the knowledge, they are supposed to be the expert. The writers could very well fall short of bias in their writings.

    Economist.com
I found while looking through this online news that it was a credible source to use. It acknowledged who they were, had a subscription, and at the bottom of the website stated there rights as the economist newspaper and who they were. When reading some of the articles they contained quotes and the author was stated at the top of the papers.

    BBC.com
While looking through BBC I decided this this news holder was a credible source for information. They have a reliable link to their website with ending in .com, and had a copyright for BBC. When looking at the articles is listed the articles, held quotes, and the couple I scanned through seemed to not hold a bias opinion from the author.

    Consortiumnes.com
This news hub to me seems like a credible source for news and other worldly happenings. As I read some of the articles they had authors who acknowledged themselves, there articles seemed unbiased, and in the articles had links to where there information was pulled from and was reliable about who they were.

Fake news is used to manipulate people into believing what is presented on the screen/page. The guidelines set up by the AP is achievable but I don't think people will stick with them. It's easier to come across fake news and believe it rather than digger deeper and finding more credible sources.

    http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/news.html
This website is credible because 1: it is .org and 2: they write about news that is happening all over the world and 3: it has the name of the author of the article

I know that this one is a .com but I have used this website to find very credible articles. they go over big, current events.

    BBC.com
I found this website very credible because the articles have quotes which is important in journalistic writing and the authors are very smart about keeping their articles unbiased.

The difference between credible and fake news, or news satire, is sometimes hard to decipher. When people read fake news, they’re often being manipulated by the media who are trying to push a biased piece. Why? Fake news sells. People are more likely to read an article with a headline blown out of proportion, rather than a “boring” credible headline. For example," President Donald Trump was seen leaving Trump Tower with a younger woman!!! AFFAIR??”. This headline would get more readers than “Donald Trump spotted leaving press conference with young secretary.” Fake news websites mislead patrons and spread misinformation which has an impact on us as consumers. The guidelines set by “AP News” are achievable, but that doesn’t mean they will actually be followed, even though they need to be . It is up to consumers to find credible news sources, and not believe everything they read.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/
I think this is a very credible news source. It’s a widespread network, so they cover just about everything. When they cover a story, they are usually some of the first people to be on “the scene” and usually go places other news outlets can’t.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
Daily mail is very credible. It isn’t a new outlet based on the U.S. but they cover a lot of issues here and don’t stretch the truth in any of their articles. They do not have outrageous headlines or anything far-fetched.

    http://www.aljazeera.com/news/
Like the two previous new outlets I’ve mentioned, Aljazeera is a very reliable source. Not only do they cover widespread news, but none of main articles seem fake in any way. On their website, they even have a section called “Opinions”, so any biased or “fake” news is most likely put under that tab.

Fake news and real news are hard to tell from eachother when fake news is becoming more and more common. Fake news is usually the news that brings people in. Although real news can do the same its usually not as manipulating. It is possible to follow the AP guidelines but for most, its easier just to believe the fake news rather than searching more for credibility.

    www.economist.com
This is a credible website because it had .com.There were also many topics, photos, and blogs with credible authors that seemed like the real deal.

    www.rueter.com
This website had .com as well as many political current events happening today. They had authentic videos and truthful journalist too.

    www.associatedpress.com
This website has .com. This website is also rated as one of the most trustworthy news sources on a survey by marketwatch.com. The events dicusussed on there are also relevant to the events being discussed on other major sources such ass CNN or ABC.

The purpose of fake news is to mislead the public by thinking something that is false. The guidelines set forth by AP are acheiveable, but most people are going to believe fake news because its more believable.

    BBC.com
The writers keep the article unbiased and there is a quote by a policeman."They were pleading with us not to send them back to Myanmar," said one policeman."

They have images and videos from the event that happened. The article I looked at had had quotes, and the couple I looked through seemed to not hold an opinion from the author.

    http://www.motherjones.com/author/samantha-michaels/
This is a credible site because again it has images and the author doesnt seem to have a bias opinion.

When reading news article, deciding on if it is "fake" or "real" is hard to determine. Looking a different articles myself I find that if quotes are simple and are given credit appropriately, what I am reading is true. Whereas if im reading an article and there's a quote here and there with no credit to anyone then I can assume these quotes have been made up or unreliably found. What the AP news does when presenting news, I feel is very achievable because before they put news out into the public they thoroughly make sure their articles or truthful and reliable.

    http://www.bbc.com/
The news they use has credible sources and quotes. Images used are real and taken themselves or by another major news source.

    https://www.aol.com/news/

The difference between fake and real news can be hard to decipher, especially in the time where social media is so relevant and news can blow up and be seen by millions within seconds. I think that the guidelines set are achievable but will be hard to always follow, because that’s not always what excites people. A lot of people in news aren’t in news to inform people about what is actually going on; they are in the news industry to form the opinions and thoughts of others while gaining personal assets for themselves, like money, views, popularity, followers, fame, people joining their side, etc. Fake news is often more exciting because it’s fantasized so it draws in more people, however it is usually far from the truth.
    http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/348168-trump-renews-call-for-mexico-to-pay-for-border-wall
This seems like a credible source because we know that President Trump likes to talk about building “The Wall” as I have seen from live speeches, also they use direct quotes from his Twitter account, and we know it’s his real twitter account because of the blue check mark by his twitter @, and its not just a direct quote either it’s an actual picture from it.

    https://www.economist.com/blogs/buttonwood/2017/08/buck-drops-here
This seems like a very credible news source to me. The information makes sense to me. Also I have heard this information from numerous other sources lately, also if you really want to check those numbers you would find that those numbers are correct and match up with the source, and they aren’t hard to check the stock price of the Dow J and the Euro are very easy to find, and you can pull up graphs of different time periods as well.

This source also seems very credible to me. It is an .org website which makes it less likely to be fake news. Also we have all heard from multiple sources about the North Korea situation. This article also has direct quotes from President Trump and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. So I would give it the credibility nod.

Fake news is anything that’s not creditable and is most likely some type of drama. With drama there are usually lots of lies. Real news is backed up by creditable sources and does not try and appeal to only one side of the story etc. The guidelines set up by AP News are achievable but because we are human and like to believe everything we hear I don’t think everyone will follow them. A job that pays well might be the only thing that keeps people following the AP guidelines.

    https://consortiumnews.com/
I think this is a good source because on their front page there is a “about them” page that shows a labeled picture of the head of the journalism site. They are not trying to hide anything and are not bias and are straight forward.

    http://www.theblaze.com/
This news seems to be creditable because they again have pictures of reporters and their names and a .com. They also have up to date news (ex. The hurricane Harvey).

    http://www.breitbart.com/

In modern times, news sources don’t always provide accurate information. Stories will commonly be rushed and thrown together for the sake of being the first news source to report on a topic. Also, stories are skewed with personal biases of the company, writer, and editor’s views. Deciphering between real and fake news can sometimes be difficult, however, if you know what to look for while reading an article it can be made fairly simple. The AP guidelines are achievable if you are willing to put all personal opinions aside and conduct accurate, nonbiased research.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ The Atlantic is a credible news source to me. They cover a variety of topics, and instead of using opinions or persuasion in their articles, they simply aim to inform on things that are happening around the U.S.. They also offer a masthead page, providing links to their staffs individual contributions to the website.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/ This website is both credible and not. Their slogan is that they report on “scientific discoveries that matter,” which already lets me know that there is bias in what they publish and how they word it. The article titles also appear to be “clickbait” in a way; however, when I read their content and research what they’re writing I find that it is all true.

http://www.bbc.com/news BBC offers different websites and has different crew members reporting on stories based off of where they happen. They also have real news stories designed to inform. I also noticed that they commonly send their own people to engage in the event that they are reporting on, instead of taking information from other news sources.

Fake news is very manipulative and will grab people’s attention by telling them something happened when in reality it did not. Real news websites end in the .org or .edu for us to know they are real and nothing is made up. They will also have references, quotes and will show who said it. There is no way to tell if the writers will fall to the fake news people but we trust them as they know what they are doing that they wouldn’t.
    http://www.bbc.com/
I find this website credible because it shows worldwide information. They also have quotes in almost every article showing that people are telling us what happened from their side. The authors in these articles do not manipulate others and seem to be credible.

Fake news is designed to sell, not to inform. Legitimate media sources will include how, where and when they obtained their information. The guidelines set out by the Associated Press are certainly attainable, however the majority of news outlets will not go through the same intensive process in order to deliver quality information, and will instead opt for the quicker, less truthful route that will make more money.

    http://news.sky.com/
This is a larger news provider that focuses mostly on British news, but covers worldwide news as well. I do not find this site to be reputable because there are very few citations for the provided info and pictures. There are no authors visible on most articles.

    zdnet.com
This news outlet provides information for all kinds of technology based news. I find this site to be reputable. Citations for all info gathered from other well known outlets such as the Associated Press are provided. All authors are clearly identified and each has their own profile on the website so that readers can see the background of the authors.

    buzzfeed.com
Buzzfeed is probably one of the more atrociously fake news websites that is widely used. While on the front, it looks legitimate, sometimes even including citations and author's names, it is very clear that there is an agenda that all buzzfeed authors follow.

Fake news is usually a manipulated version of the truth. The guidelines for AP news are achievable for a journalist who takes their job seriously by staying credible and unbias. There is no way in telling if a writer is going to be truthful at all times, but doing research of multiple sites can be very helpful in those cases.

The difference between real news and fake news can be very simple. Fake news tricks and manipulates the audience into thinking everything they're reading or watching is real. They also use things to make you feel bad or feel dumb which makes you want to belive it even more. Real news always talks about the writer, where it all came from and explains in a short and "to the point" manner, not rambling on tricking you into what you should belive rather telling you and letting you decipher. The guidlines from AP news, to me, are achievable but may be hard to stand by consistantly. If you are able to put yours and everyone elses feelings to the side, you have a better chance of sticking by them. However people are very used to going with what they belive only and that could be where they dont follow.

    BBC.com
I believe this is credible because thir link ended in .com which makes it reliable and they had many quotes throughout articles that explained the author they adressed.

Fake news looks like real news. The difference is that fakes news manipulates the audience that reads it and they only have one side of the story or it leaves out important details. Real credible news has almost all the facts accurate and they get multiple sides of the story tomake the article more accurate.
https://www.fbi.gov/news is a credible news source because of the .gov at the end which means it's ran by the government. Also this website gets stories from different points of view that other network stations don't get.

Fake news is put out there to the public to try and manipulate them into believing a certain way while real news is putting out facts that allow you to make your own opinion on the matter or putting out opinions that they admit their bias to so you can still create your own opinion. The AP Guidelines are achievable but very difficult to put into action. It would require journalists to put aside their bias and personal opinions while they write.

    http://www.bbc.com/news
BBC seems to be reliable because they send out their own people to research the event or issue instead of getting the information from another source. They also use a good amount of quotes and the articles seem to be unbiased for the most part.

fake news and real news can be very hard to tell apart, because fake news tries to Manipulate your mind to think everything your viewing is real, even though its not. to find credibility in the author, website or whatever your viewing just look for lots of cited quotes, no opinionated statements, and read the mission statement/background info of the source/author and if it doesn't have this stuff its most likely fake.
http://www.truth-out.org/ I believe this source is credible because it has an about us tab, is .org, and has lots of cited quotes, and a link to authors profile.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41067315 this source is credible because it has lots of pictures/ videos from event and cited quotes from governor. it also has a "about the reporters" tab (Houston floods)

http://www.reuters.com/ I think this source is credible because it has up to date news, you can find background info of author, has lots of quotes and pics and theirs no opinionated info just facts.

I think that it can be hard to tell the difference between fake news and real news because not many people are educated on how to tell what news sources are reliable. The guidelines set by AP News are achievable, but I don’t think that all journalists try to go by the guidelines because usually fake news is more appealing to the viewer than real news. I don’t think that there’s a way to tell if journalists will fall to writing fake news, there’s also no way to prevent journalists from writing fake news.

This website is a credible news sources because it is a .com, but it is also credible because it isn’t bias, it just states the facts to inform the public.

Fake news will alter picture or image content to make you believe that they are real. Real news will accurately quote their sources and don't plagiarize. The real news tended to end in .edu .org and sometimes .com. The guidelines set up by the AP are possible to acheive but i doubt that they will always be followed.

I feel as if fake news and real news are hard to tell apart because of what we read nowadays. Many people read articles on the internet and believe everything it says. Fake news is a picture to make people think it's true. Real news will actually show where they got it from and have quotes from their resources.

    BBC.com
This site is credible news because it has interviews of what has been happening in Texas, also pictures and it's a .com.

The people who make real news wants us to know what is happening around the world to teach us that we need to have humility in our lives. Some people may not have that and that is why we get fake news because people dont want to be wrong or right they want to be in the middle and have excuses for both side.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-41068745/tropical-storm-harvey-streets-turned-into-rivers-in-houston

Fake news is used to manipulate people into believing false accusations made by a random person. Guidelines that the AP set up are achievable but not many people stick with them. It is more time consuming for people to try to find evidence and dig deeper into things than to just read something and believe it although its false.

Fake news is normal news with missing pieces and added information to portray a certain narrative. Real news, on the other hand, is the whole story, told from all sides and angles. In real news, there is no opinion in the story, and that is what AP News does. Their whole premise is telling the true story without opinion, and that is most possible in our current society. A lot of people are tired of being lied to, so they are searching for more reliable news sources. This will make AP thrive.

Fake news, when you walk through a grocery store the first thing you see when walking down the register is magazines that say very obscure things that more then likely aren't true because there main concern is getting people to read and buy there product. The AP news regulations are very much achievable but it boils down to one simple thing and that is honesty. The definiton of Honesty(Honest) is Free of deceit and untruthfulness. When people are untruthful telling the news they will come up with something that will catch the everyday persons eye and they will read it and like most instead of doing more research on the topic and looking at someone who is more credible they take it and just go with there eyes instead of there brain. There are credible "Real News" writers out there who want to spread the real word unlike the "fake news" writers who want to spread what they believe about a certain topic and get you to join them. This is a lot to ask for from everyone because popularity and fame now a days is soooo important but telling the truth will bring people closer to together rather then tearing them apart, because they read a fake story and don't know real facts yet will still try to act like they do know the whole story. So to all the credible writers thank you for sharing the honest truth, even if others try to say its fake the truth will prevail it always does.

Within society many outbreaks occur over what is fake news and what is real news. Sadly, as humans we like to believe what is the most interesting story however a lot of the time the most interesting story isn't quite true. Fake news will twist the living hell out of photos, audio and any other evidence they get their grubby paws on. They only twist it to their own personal agenda or beliefs even if that hurts other people around them, they seek to only fulfill their personal desires and to do that they rope you in with outrageous titles and false stories. Real news seeks to spread awareness of current matter and subjects, wether or not it is interesting it is almost always incredibly important to what is going on within our country and our world. It is so easy to wrangle someone in with a silly intense title that it's almost pathetic that we let ourselves get wrangled in, and it's even more pathetic that some of us actually believe the ridiculous facts that fake news will present to us on a damn silver platter because they are proud of what they do and how many heads they turn and hearts they change. We as a generation and generations to follow need to begin to acknowledge fake news and weed out what is true and what is false for our own sakes.

In today's world fake news is most people's real news. Fake news is everywhere and fake news writers are becoming better and better about making their fake news seem real. Fake news, for example, focuses on a small quote or detail, exaggerates it, and takes it out of context and changes the bigger picture meaning behind it. The AP News guidelines seem unrealistic at times but despite the millions of fake news websites out there, there millions of credible sources too, you just have to know how to find them. In my opinion, the hardest and most important skill for real news journalists, is the skill of writing with unbiased facts.

Fake news is just news only with details that are manipulated one way or another, typically to push one agenda over another. Whether their facts aren't correct, or they stretch the truth to what really happened. Real news is what actually happened without the tampering that fake news has had done to it. I think the AP guidelines are realistic, but outrageous stories that some fake news stories have tend to be more popular since they're more interesting.

Fake news compared to real news... Fake news is always exaggerated and intriguing, the intentions of it are to grab the readers attention and hook them with the absurd statements. Knowing how to determine credibility of a source is crucial to getting an "A" on a project compared to a "C-F". Using a non credible news source in a project can bring you down ina heartbeat the information within it although may sound sophisticated and look attractive in reality it's just gibberish posted on a website. Reality news will show you more then one point of view of a topic, and will allow you to see who the information came from and will give only factual information instead of opinionated. AP news is strictly factual information and is tailored to not favor one side or another when talking about a controversial topic. AP standards could easily be met if reporters quoted and mentioned the source they got their information from after stating something. Also by the authors not allowing themselves to pose their words in an opinionated way could be the difference between credible and non credible.

    www.BBC.com

"Fake news" is a concept that many people don't understand because they may follow that news source because of their own person ideology. For example, someone who is politically "liberal" will follow sources like CNN while someone who is "conservative" will follow Fox News. These people may not be able to see the bias in their own, because they know each news source follows their ideology and ideas. So this is how many people can't seem to find the true source of the news and the unbiased viewpoint that the reporters claim to give off.

Fake news tend to take the facts and twist them in a way that makes it more appealing to the public and catches their attention. They are supposed to be the experts, so the readers tend to believe them and are completely mislead. It is difficult to decipher whether or not what the readers are taking in is true. We now live in a world where access to news, real or fake, is at the touch of a button. No matter what news you read, it's best to check more than one source to ensure that what you're reading is factual. I have seen many fake reports regarding celebrity deaths and if one looks a little more in depth, will realize that the story is untrue. Even NBC anchor Brian Williams was suspended from his job for embellishing the truth while reporting on his involvement in a helicopter incident during the U.S. invasion of Iraq. I understand that the AP has strict guidelines set for the reporting of our news. I think all bases were covered, however people are human and mistakes can be made. Also, there are other "reporters" who are looking more for numbers hit on their websites versus reporting truthfulness. My advice is to do your research to ensure that what you're reading is the truth.

    Reliable Sources:

PBS.org (Public Broadcasting Service). Political affiliation seems to have a lot to do with where readers look up information on "trusted" sites. Most Republicans view Fox News as there most trusted source, whereas Democrats view Occupy Democrats and Buzzfeed as theirs. Interestingly, political affiliation didn't seem to play a role in the trust earned by PBS.

Npr.org. (National Public Radio). Although denounced as liberally biased, as the majority of their funding is liberal leaning, they have never been known for exaggerating the truth or misleading people for political reasons. They report with as little bias as possible and people appreciate their accurate and down to earth reports.

BBC.com. This site is trusted by many for their real news, mainly because they employ journalists from all around the world with varying political backgrounds, religions and cultures. British people seem to be the most critical about reliability and they rank the BBC 62% reliable/unbiased in a recent poll.

Fake news can be very convincing at times, often because people don't check more than one source. In the modern world, information surrounds us, most of the time we don't even need to search for it. Wherever we look, be it on social media or on the television we have "news" streamed into our lives. This modern world can be helpful because the access is so easy, however fake news can play to our emotions and skew our views. We often times base our opinions on how people feel, over the facts of the matter.

BBC.com is a credible source, especially when it comes to American politics, because they are removed from America. Because they are based out of the U.K. they are far less biased because they have less of an agenda to push, however it is important to remember that any source of news will have a slight bias.

PBS.org Is a very reliable source, it will almost always site its sources, which is the foundation of a reputable source, if a website doesn't site its sources you can almost guarantee it's unreliable.

NPR.org although largely funded by liberal groups, normally does not show a bias, and the fact it is a .org increases reliability. If it does have a bias at all, it would be slightly liberal, but normally it stays very fact based.

  56. Fake news is everywhere. There really is no avoiding it. Everyone is trying to push a certain narrative. Now some news sources will try to focus more on facts while others focus on the narrative, but to expect all news sources to follow all those guidelines is kind of ridiculous. If every news source followed all the guidelines then the news would take longer to get out to the people. Release the initial story then fill in the blanks. It takes days for some news stories to be pieced together.

These are some of the most credible news sources of 2017 according to Business Insider.
    1) BBC
    2)PBS
    3) NPR
